Privacy Policy

DialIndex is an informational directory for company contact details. This policy explains what limited information we may collect when you use the site, how we use it, and the choices you may have.

Last updated: March 11, 2026

1. Controller and Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to dialindex.com and the related pages, search tools, and directory listings made available by DialIndex. The site is intended to help users locate company phone numbers, support emails, and similar business contact details.

For privacy-law purposes, DialIndex is the controller of personal information processed through the site. Questions about this policy or our privacy practices may be sent to [email protected].

DialIndex does not require account registration to browse the directory. Please do not submit sensitive personal information through the site unless it is necessary for a support request you choose to send us.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

  • Technical and usage information: IP address, browser type, device information, operating system, referring pages, pages viewed, timestamps, and similar server or security log data.
  • Search and interaction data: search terms entered into the directory and basic interaction information needed to operate and improve search results.
  • Communications you send us: if you contact us, we may collect your name, email address, and the contents of your message.

Most directory listings on the site concern businesses and business contact channels. If a listing includes personal information, we expect it to come from lawful public, business, or user-submitted sources and to be used only for legitimate directory and informational purposes.

3. Sources of Information

We may obtain information directly or indirectly from sources such as:

  • your use of the site and your direct communications with us;
  • server, hosting, security, and infrastructure providers;
  • publicly available websites, business pages, and public records; and
  • other lawful third-party sources that provide business contact information.

4. How We Use Information

We may use information collected through the site to:

  • operate, maintain, and secure the website;
  • return company search results and improve directory relevance;
  • monitor performance, troubleshoot errors, and prevent abuse or misuse;
  • respond to questions, complaints, or legal requests; and
  • comply with applicable laws, regulations, and lawful process.

5. Legal Bases for Processing

If and to the extent the GDPR, UK GDPR, or similar laws apply, we generally rely on one or more of the following legal bases:

  • our legitimate interests in operating, securing, maintaining, and improving the directory;
  • performance of a contract or pre-contract steps when you ask us to respond to a request;
  • compliance with legal obligations; and
  • consent, where consent is required by law for a specific activity.

Our legitimate interests include keeping the site functional, protecting it from abuse, organizing directory data, responding to inquiries, and preserving the integrity of listings.

6. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We and our hosting or infrastructure providers may use cookies, log files, or similar technologies that are reasonably necessary to deliver the site, maintain security, and understand basic site performance.

DialIndex is not intended to support cross-site behavioral advertising. At the time of this policy, we do not sell personal information and we do not knowingly share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Because the site is not designed around cross-site behavioral tracking, it does not currently respond differently to browser "Do Not Track" signals.

7. How We Share Information

We may disclose information only in the following circumstances:

  • to vendors and service providers that host, secure, or support the website;
  • to comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect rights, safety, and security;
  • as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets; or
  • with your direction or consent.

When you click a phone link, email link, or external company website, your interaction is governed by your carrier, email provider, browser, and the third-party destination, not just this Privacy Policy.

8. International Transfers

We may process and store information in countries other than the country where you live, including in the United States and other jurisdictions where our hosting, infrastructure, or support providers operate.

Where applicable law requires safeguards for cross-border transfers, we will rely on appropriate transfer mechanisms recognized by law, such as contractual protections or comparable safeguards.

9. Data Retention and Security

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including site operation, security, legal compliance, and dispute resolution.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You use the site at your own risk.

10. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of certain personal information, or to object to or limit certain processing. You may also have the right to appeal a privacy request decision where required by law.

If the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, you may also have rights to data portability, withdrawal of consent where we rely on consent, objection to processing based on legitimate interests, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

To make a privacy request, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your request before taking action.

Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted by law, subject to identity and authorization verification requirements.

11. California Privacy Notice

If the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, applies to our processing, California residents may have rights to know, access, correct, and delete certain personal information, as well as the right not to be discriminated against for exercising applicable privacy rights.

Based on the site's current operation, we do not sell personal information and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those concepts are used in California privacy law. We also do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that would trigger a right to limit, except as permitted by law.

California requests may be submitted to [email protected].

12. Accuracy, Directory Content, and Removal Requests

The site is a directory and may contain information gathered from public or third-party sources. We do not guarantee that every listing is complete, accurate, or current.

If you believe a listing includes inaccurate personal information or should be reviewed for legal or privacy reasons, contact [email protected] with enough detail for us to identify the listing and evaluate the request.

13. Children

DialIndex is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will review the request.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the site after changes become effective means you accept the revised policy.

15. Contact

Privacy questions and requests should be sent to [email protected]. General legal or listing-related requests may be sent to [email protected].
