Online check-in for TAROM flights is available from 30 hours up to 1 hour before the scheduled departure time. This service allows passengers to check in from home or office, select their seat, and print their boarding pass. However, for flights departing from certain airports like Oradea and Cairo, while online check-in is possible, boarding passes must be collected at the airport check-in counters.

Question 3

What are the hand baggage allowances on TAROM flights?

Accepted Answer

Passengers are generally allowed one piece of hand baggage. For Boeing and Airbus aircraft, the maximum dimensions are 55x40x20 cm. If traveling with an ATR 72 aircraft, the dimensions should not exceed 35x30x20 cm. In addition to hand baggage, one personal item such as a purse or laptop bag is permitted. The total weight of hand baggage and the personal item must not exceed 8 kg (18lb) for Boeing/Airbus and 10 kg for ATR aircraft.

Question 4

What is TAROM's checked baggage policy?

Accepted Answer

For flights operated by TAROM, passengers have a free checked baggage allowance that varies by travel class and fare type. Generally, a standard piece of checked baggage in Economy Class has a maximum weight of 23 kg, and in Business Class, 32 kg. The maximum sum of dimensions (height + width + length) for any checked piece is 158 cm. Specific tariff groups like 'LIGHT' in Economy Class may not include checked baggage.

Question 5

Can I cancel my TAROM flight and get a refund?

Accepted Answer

According to TAROM's cancellation policy, most flight tickets can be canceled for a full refund within 24 hours of purchase, provided the departure date is at least one week away. After this 24-hour grace period, cancellations may be subject to penalties, and refunds depend on the fare type (refundable vs. non-refundable). If TAROM cancels a flight or fails to operate it as scheduled, passengers are entitled to a refund for the unused portion of the ticket.

Question 6

How do I request a refund for a TAROM ticket?

Accepted Answer

Refunds can be claimed by the person named on the ticket or the person who paid for the reservation. Requests made after six months of the ticket's validity expiration may be refused. Refunds are typically processed in the original method of payment and are subject to government laws and regulations of the country where the ticket was purchased and where the refund is being made.

Question 7

What assistance does TAROM offer for passengers with special needs or unaccompanied minors?

Accepted Answer

TAROM provides special assistance for passengers requiring extra support, including those with special needs or unaccompanied minors. Passengers needing special assistance should notify TAROM at least 48 hours before departure. For unaccompanied minors aged 5 and older, dedicated assistance is provided from departure to arrival, with a service fee applicable per segment.

Question 8

What happens if my TAROM flight is delayed or cancelled?

Accepted Answer

If your TAROM flight is delayed by at least 3 hours or cancelled, you may be entitled to compensation of up to €600 per passenger under European and British air passenger rights regulations (EC 261), provided the cancellation was not due to extraordinary circumstances. If a flight is cancelled and you do not take an alternative flight offered by the airline, you are eligible for a full ticket refund.

Accepted Answer
